Where Did Goh Get That Gun?

If you don’t know the story of a student named Goh and the Oikos University massacre, start here.

We advocate some controls on guns, but not a restriction on the right of all Americans to possess legally registered firearms.

The restrictions we do want are:

(1) A longer waiting period for firearms purchase, so that sources other than lunatics can answer “Have you ever been treated for a mental illness?”-type questions themselves (Cho purchased his massacre weapon legally);

(2) A ban against owning firearms for those convicted of a violent crime, especially—but not limited to—domestic violence;

(3) The elimination of fraudulent “collector-to-collector” transactions, which do not require registration of the weapons;

(4) A mandatory ballistic examination (and recording) for all weapons sold so that, when a murder (or gunshot) victim is found, it could (as in might) be possible to learn something about the shooter from recovered bullets, and

(5) A ban on full-auto weaponry, as well as on SAMs, RPGs and LAAWs.

We support personal and patriotic self-defense. We believe none of the above points listed would, in any way, impede either.
