True Blues "Vachss' novels are the written–word equivalent of the Blues— Andrew Vachss' Safe House A Collection of the Blues was a companion album to the Safe House novel featuring fifteen of Andrew Vachss' favorite songs, plus a never–before–published short story by Vachss. It was released on CD and cassette back in 1998, by Repeat/Relativity Records. It's been off the shelves for a while now, but not before it did its job, raising tens of thousands of dollars for Community Works and Licensed for Life. If you want the exquisite details, each and every musician featured, here are the credits to every single track. You can listen to "Ghost," a track from this collection that is based on Andrew Vachss' novel Shella, by clicking here. Don't miss Chet Williamson's review of Safe House: A Collection of the Blues, written for Rambles. And if you're interested in legendary rock critic Dave Marsh's take on Vachss and the blues, take a look at this feature article. Finally, if you want a copy of the CD itself ... sometimes you can find a used copy here. Safe House
