Change is coming. Slowly, too slowly for those who clearly and seek nothing less than a recoding of our cultural software ... but as inexorable as a melting glacier. Increasingly, people are forced to re-think what's "funny." Remember those morons who thought it would be a cool "spoof" to have someone on radio in a "skit" depicting an ALS victim? Well, you can't insult an athlete in America ... we won't stand for that. But when an athlete blames the underage victim in a notorious gang–rape case, the looming loss of sponsorships forces an instant back–track. We are no longer supporting the lie that only countries which practice "honor rape" have a culture which supports sexual assault. We have our own cultural defects, and more and more people are unwilling to accept the "she was asking for it" defense. Some of those even sit on juries.

Soaring sexual violence pushes S.Leone to face 'rape culture'
"FREETOWN, "Mary" was nine years old when her childhood abruptly ended. Three men fed her sedatives then raped her. "They put dirty clothes in my mouth and raped me," the girl told AFP, without giving her real name. Rape Victims' Clothing Displayed to Prove Clothing Choice Doesn't Cause Rape
"As rape and sexual assault victims grapple with life post-trauma, one of the loaded questions that is sometimes asked is, "What were you wearing?" The unstated but troubling implication is that if the clothes worn were provocative enough, then that may affect the level of sympathy offered. But, as an exhibit in Belgium proves, the question is useless, and harmful, in determining a motive for rape."

Research professor Florian Jaeger made national headlines last year after allegations arose that he had harassed and engaged in sexual relationships with his students. Brooklyn school punished intellectually disabled girl who was gang raped by students and tried keeping it secret: lawsuit
" When an intellectually disabled student reported that she was the victim of an on-campus a gang rape, city Education Department officials responded by suspending the accuser from school and sweeping the case under the rug, a federal lawsuit charges. The girl, who wants to remain anonymous, has an IQ of just 71 and possessed an unblemished disciplinary record when she was coerced into a stairwell at troubled Teacher Preparatory High School in Brooklyn and forced to perform sex acts on a group of male students, according to the suit. Child Porn Sentencing Questioned
"Are federal sentencing guidelines for possessing child pornography too harsh?
Calling the guidelines "draconian," U.S. District Judge James L. Graham has become increasingly vocal in his criticism from the federal bench in Columbus.
"Possessing child porn is vastly different from distributing or producing it," Graham said in an interview last week. "The purveyors or producers of these images deserve the most severe punishment we can give them. My concern is the people who end up possessing it."
Richard Bistline, a Knox County man, is to be in federal court on Wednesday to be sentenced for the third time for child"porn possession. His case thrust Graham into the spotlight in 2010 after the judge sentenced Bistline, of Mount Vernon, to one day in prison, 30 days of home confinement and 10 years of probation. The recommended sentence under federal guidelines was five to six years.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Deborah A. Solove appealed Graham's sentence to the 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, which ruled that the penalty did not reflect the seriousness of the offense. The appeals court ordered Graham to resentence the defendant.
But a defiant Graham again sentenced Bistline to a single day in prison, although he increased the home confinement to three years. Solove again appealed, and the 6th Circuit court again ruled that Graham's sentence was too lenient. The court removed Graham from the case.
Judge George C. Smith is to sentence Bistline on Wednesday.

"Sexual assault is rampant on campus. Time to force colleges to take it seriously... Punishments for perpetrators are notoriously light, and often non–existent.
