Change is coming. Slowly, too slowly for those who clearly and seek nothing less than a recoding of our cultural software ... but as inexorable as a melting glacier. Increasingly, people are forced to re-think what's "funny." Remember those morons who thought it would be a cool "spoof" to have someone on radio in a "skit" depicting an ALS victim? Well, you can't insult an athlete in America ... we won't stand for that. But when an athlete blames the underage victim in a notorious gang–rape case, the looming loss of sponsorships forces an instant back–track. We are no longer supporting the lie that only countries which practice "honor rape" have a culture which supports sexual assault. We have our own cultural defects, and more and more people are unwilling to accept the "she was asking for it" defense. Some of those even sit on juries.

Her mother, who had been washing clothes in a stream near their home in Freetown, Sierra Leone's capital, got home to find her child lying on the ground distraught, her legs and dress stained with blood.
"They put dirty clothes in my mouth and raped me," the girl told AFP, without giving her real name.

Rape Victims' Clothing Displayed to Prove Clothing Choice Doesn't Cause Rape
"As rape and sexual assault victims grapple with life post-trauma, one of the loaded questions that is sometimes asked is, "What were you wearing?"
The unstated but troubling implication is that if the clothes worn were provocative enough, then that may affect the level of sympathy offered.
But, as an exhibit in Belgium proves, the question is useless, and harmful, in determining a motive for rape."

Rochester University officials could have done better but ultimately followed appropriate procedure after one of its professors faced a string of sexual harassment allegations from staffers and students, according to an extensive investigative report published Thursday.
Florian Jaeger, a research professor at the upstate New York university's cognitive sciences department, made national headlines last year after allegations arose that he had for years harassed and engaged in sexual relationships with his students.
In a joint complaint, at least four Rochester students alleged that the university didn't do enough to protect them from Jaeger, noting that the professor was promoted in the midst of an investigation into his behavior."

Brooklyn school punished intellectually disabled girl who was gang raped by students and tried keeping it secret: lawsuit
" When an intellectually disabled student reported that she was the victim of an on-campus a gang rape, city Education Department officials responded by suspending the accuser from school and sweeping the case under the rug, a federal lawsuit charges.
The girl, who wants to remain anonymous, has an IQ of just 71 and possessed an unblemished disciplinary record when she was coerced into a stairwell at troubled Teacher Preparatory High School in Brooklyn and forced to perform sex acts on a group of male students, according to the suit.
But instead of properly punishing her assailants, school officials suspended the girl for engaging in sexual activity at school, the suit says.
And this happened despite the fact that one of her attackers was later arrested by police, the girl's attorney said."
