Florida mother allegedly watched teen daughter live-stream her suicide while encouraging her to die
" A probe by the Florida Department of Children and Families says Gina Caze, the mother of 14-year-old Naika Venant, was among the hundreds of people who viewed the teen's grim goodbye on Facebook Live in January.
Caze hurled insults at her own daughter through the stream, and even encouraged her to die, but never alerted anyone to help, the report says."

Emotional abuse in childhood as harmful as violence or neglect
"Although people assume physical abuse is more harmful than other types of abuse, we found that they are associated with similar consequences," study author David Vachon, a professor in the Department of Psychology at McGill University, said in a statement. "These consequences are wide-ranging and include everything from anxiety and depression to rule-breaking and aggression."

'DaddyOFive' YouTubers sentenced to five years probation for child neglect
"The couple behind the controversial "DaddyOFive" YouTube channel were sentenced to five years of probation on charges of child neglect in Frederick County Circuit Court on Monday.
Michael and Heather Martin of Ijamsville entered Alford pleas to two counts of child neglect each — charges that stem from "prank" videos that caused a viral outcry from viewers who thought they amounted to child abuse. Under their Alford pleas, the Martins maintain their innocence while acknowledging that prosecutors have enough evidence to win a conviction."

"Two mothers are accused of standing by and doing nothing as their 12 children were physically and sexually abused by their father in what's being described by authorities as a secret 'cult.'
The sickening allegations involving Washington dad Melford Warren Jr., 43, led to one deputy calling it 'one of the worst cases of abuse we've ever seen,' Q13 News reported.
'These children were held against their will, denied nutrition, denied medical care, and physically and sexually abused,' Scott Wilson, of the Kitsap County Sheriff's Office, told the station after asserting his claim.
Detectives say Warren's children, ranging in age from infanthood to 13, were taught to hide the abuse and never speak with police."

"Charlie Bothuell V's workouts, in the morning and evening, included 100 push–ups, 200 sit–ups, 100 jumping jacks, 25 arm curls on each arm with 25–pound weights and thousands of revolutions on an elliptical trainer, the court documents said.
"Charlie V reports having to complete the entire workout 'in under an hour or I would have to do it again,'" a petition filed in juvenile court by a state agency said.
Bouthell told investigator he could not finish the workouts sometimes because he was in pain from being struck on the feet with the PVC pipe, the petition said.
...The petition filed in Wayne County juvenile court said doctors found scars or wounds on his chest and buttocks from the pipe and the boy has said his step–mother verbally and emotionally abused him and punched him."
